Meet the Team: Jeff Rohrbach – Operations Manager at Cimarron Label, an Inovar Company
Professional Journey
Jeff Rohrbach has been with Inovar Packaging Group for an impressive 39 years this May and currently serves as Operations Manager at Cimarron Label in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Over his long career, Jeff has gained a deep understanding of every stage of label production, from prepress and press to finishing, and has seen the industry evolve through countless technological advancements.
One memorable project for Jeff was working with Brian Fischer to transition from an older estimating system to Inovar’s current ERP system. The project took approximately a year and a half to complete, and with Brian’s help, the team successfully started estimating in the new system last December.
Jeff describes Inovar’s culture as customer-focused and growth-oriented. He is especially impressed with the amount of communication and information shared across all business units. His approach to problem-solving relies on the talented people around him; leveraging their knowledge and perspectives helps him find effective solutions. Managing the production schedule, particularly during busy periods, is a challenge that has helped Jeff grow, as he relies on his team’s flexibility to maintain high levels of on-time delivery.
Personal Side
Jeff’s first jobs were with the Aberdeen Parks, Recreation, and Forestry, where he served as a groundskeeper, checked in campers, and coached youth soccer. These roles taught him how to interact effectively with the public.
If he could switch jobs for a day, Jeff would be the captain of a ship, as he enjoys being on the water and is curious about what it takes to navigate a vessel across the ocean. A fun fact about Jeff is that he and some friends once invested in ostrich eggs, an experience he does not recommend repeating.
On his days off, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife, Krisa, of 36 years, on their boat fishing for walleyes on the Missouri River. If he could have dinner with any historical figure, he would choose Benjamin Franklin to hear firsthand the thought process behind drafting the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and to learn from Franklin’s many professional endeavors, including his work as a printer.
