Meet the Team: Nate Johnson – Chief Human Resources Officer at Inovar Packaging Group

Nate serves as Inovar Packaging Group’s Chief Human Resources Officer and has been with the company for about a year and a half. In his role, Nate focuses on building a strong, connected company culture by improving communication, enhancing benefits, and creating opportunities for team members to connect on a personal level. “I love what I do because it helps make our work experience the best it can be”.

A memorable project for Nate was refreshing the company’s Purpose and Mission. “It involved thoughtful discussions and highlighted how passionate we all are about Inovar”. Defining the company’s identity and goals in strong, memorable statements was immensely rewarding for him.

Nate describes Inovar’s culture as caring and passionate. “Our team genuinely cares about our customers, each other, and the organization as a whole”. When tackling challenges, Nate takes a methodical approach. He starts by gathering data and insights from key stakeholders and often tests solutions on a smaller scale to refine them before full implementation. “Understanding the current state is key to developing effective solutions”.

Nate’s first job was at a sub shop, where he quickly learned the importance of gloves when handling hot ovens. “I also learned that many sub shop workers don’t have fingerprints!”.

If he could switch jobs for a day, Nate would choose a role in the finance team. “I have so much respect for their work and how they keep our business running”.

A fun fact about Nate? He appeared on an episode of HGTV “back in the day,” a moment that particularly impressed his mom. On his days off, Nate enjoys spending time at the lake with his wife, son, and dogs. Recently, he started taking golf lessons. “My goal is to spend more time on the fairway than in the rough”.
