Placard Label FAQs
Which Placard is right for you?
We offer three placard label options to match different environments and durability needs:
- Essential Placard Labels – Best for standard warehouse, distribution, and general logistics applications.
- Performance Placard Labels – Designed for harsh environments such as washdowns, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
- Rack Placard Labels – Built specifically for racking systems, storage locations, and warehouse identification.
If you are unsure which placard label fits your application, our specialists are happy to help.
What kind(s) of reusable packaging can the Placard be used with?
Placard labels are compatible with most reusable packaging, including:
- Plastic totes
- Pallets and skids
- Metal containers
- Drums and IBCs
- Bulk bins and crates
- Trays, carts, and dollies
- Rack systems and shelving
Each placard label type is designed to provide long-term adhesion on flat, clean surfaces.
What is the difference between Essential and Performance placard labels?
Essential Placard Labels are ideal for normal warehouse environments with limited moisture or chemical exposure. Performance Placard Labels offer enhanced durability while maintaining the same fast relabeling benefits. They are engineered for high-pressure washdowns, freezers and cold storage, chemical exposure, hot baths, and frequent cleaning cycles.
What are rack placard labels used for?
Rack placard labels are designed specifically for warehouse racking, shelving, and storage locations. They help improve location accuracy, inventory visibility, picking efficiency, and overall warehouse organization. Rack placard labels provide a clean, professional solution for long-term rack identification.
What temperatures can the Placard withstand?
Depending on the type of Placard, the product can withstand temperatures between -40°C and +120°C. When you first apply the Placard on the packaging container, the temperature should not be below 10°C for the next 24 hours.
Are placard labels water resistant?
Yes. Essential placard labels handle normal moisture exposure. Performance placard labels are built for intensive washdown and wet environments. If your application involves frequent washing, we recommend Performance placard labels.
Do placard labels work outdoors?
Essential placard labels perform well in covered outdoor environments. Performance placard labels are available with UV-resistant options for long-term outdoor exposure.
Do I need special adhesive labels for placard labels?
No. Placard labels are compatible with most standard permanent adhesive labels. If you have a specific label material or adhesive, our team can confirm compatibility.
How long do placard labels last?
When properly applied, placard labels typically last as long as the reusable container or rack system they are applied to. The surface coating maintains performance over repeated relabeling cycles.

Can placard labels be removed for recycling?
Yes. Placard labels are made with a tear-resistant base film and can be removed from reusable packaging containers when needed. For high-value packaging materials such as polycarbonate, we recommend removing the placard label prior to recycling to help preserve the material’s full recycling value.
