Kansas City Plant
Inovar’s fifth location in Kansas City, KS joined Inovar in 2020 through the acquisition of Tabco Inc. Founded in 1957, the company had mainly tape presses and supplied tire labels to Goodyear and Firestone tires. In time, the company grew and expanded its market into animal health, custom printed labels, tags and other specialty identification and packaging products.
The greater Kansas City area (which includes parts of Kansas and Missouri) accounts for more than 30 percent of the total sales in the global animal health market – which is about $15 billion – and includes four of the nations largest animal health companies. Tabco/Inovar works with about half of this market, utilizing its expertise in production and procedural complexity of this space as a catalyst for sustained growth and success in a heavily regulated industry.
Many of Tabco’s customers have been with them 20-plus years. Animal health labels represent more than 50 percent of this location’s business. Approximately 30 percent of our work is in retail food. The remaining business is in a wide variety of markets including health and beauty, industrial and cannaceuticals. Tabco’s niche is complex, expanded content labels, with the ability to create up to three layers.
