ABOUT

About RFID & NFC Product Labels

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) allows for precise track-and-trace for real time data inventory. Retailers such as Walmart are rolling out national RFID initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, provide a better in-store shopping experience, and drive more accuracy to online and pick-up in-store capabilities. Inovar understands our customers’ need for RFID labels to comply with retailer initiatives and, we’re available to provide packaging support.

Marketers use near-field communication (NFC) tags in product packaging to provide additional information, special offers, or interactive content. Consumers can tap the tag with their phone to access the content. Loyalty programs can also be integrated with NFC, allowing customers to tap their phone to earn or redeem points.

One of the big differences between NFC and RFID is that almost all mobile phones include NFC readers while RFID tags need to be read with a RFID reader. Therefore, NFC is typically used when interacting with consumers and RFID is used for businesses.

How We Can Help

The team of RFID and NFC experts at Inovar can help you with your RFID and NFC project each step of the way including identifying the appropriate tag for the project scope, in the case of the Walmart initiative, submitting for approval with the Auburn RFID Lab, and providing tag samples for testing.

Innovating RFID Prime Label Technology for Tomorrow

Our RFID product labels are produced using specialized embedding equipment, ensuring perfect application based on the label shape and size. Inovar follows standards required for ARC approval which is currently Gen2 Ultra-High Frequency RFID inlays. The ARC program is to ensure that RFID tags meet or exceed the levels of performance and quality necessary to provide benefit to the end user in a consistent and cost-effective manner.
