Meet the Team: Dennis O’Neill – Flexo Department Manager at Dion Label, an Inovar Company

Dennis O’Neill is the Flexo Department Manager at Dion Label, an Inovar Company, and has been with the company for five years. He started as the second shift supervisor and stepped into his current role in 2023 after Jim Dewey retired. With more than 20 years of experience in label printing, Dennis brings both technical expertise and strong leadership to the pressroom.

What Dennis enjoys most about the label industry is that there’s always something new to learn. Even after two decades, he still encounters challenges that keep him engaged and motivated. One of his most memorable projects was reorganizing the pressroom floor to make space for a new Mark Andy Press without removing any existing assets. He describes it as a giant game of Jenga that ultimately improved workflow and positioned the team for future success. Dennis appreciates Inovar’s culture, noting how it balances being customer-focused while maintaining a supportive, employee-focused environment. He values the family-like atmosphere at Dion, which has strengthened even further with Inovar’s investments. His approach to problem-solving is methodical: he assesses the situation as a whole and tackles challenges one step at a time. Managing people is a key challenge that has helped him grow, deepening his understanding of different perspectives and improving his leadership skills.

Dennis’s first job was mowing lawns and delivering newspapers starting around age 12. It taught him the value of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance. While his BMX and X Games dreams didn’t pan out, he fondly remembers summers filled with building jumps, wipeouts, and fun with friends.

If he could switch jobs for a day, Dennis would be Jeff Probst from Survivor to see the show live. A fun fact about Dennis is that he has visited 13 National Parks and hopes to visit them all eventually. On his days off, he enjoys adventuring with his family and hiking with his dog.
